South Arkansas Community College Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator and long time FlexPro Grip partner, Hayden Dow, joins The Layback Podcast for episode 34. Hayden is an Arkansas native who started his coaching journey fresh out of college. Beginning his coaching career at El Dorado High School under Cannon Lester, ironically the same town as South Ark CC, prior to taking the grad assistantship at Southern Arkansas University. After just one year, newly hired South Ark CC Head Coach Cannon Lester offered Dow the Pitching Coach position.
Lester and Dow have built the program to rapid success with 2 world series appearances in the first 3 years of the program. Now in year 4, Dow credits the success to strong culture, a commitment to development, and a no quit, figure it out attitude, on top of some very quality ball players. Dow has routinely figured out how to do more with less and define what is supremely important. This focus and direction has led to consistent results both in the win/loss columns, as well as in player development.
