On episode 04 of Uncharted your Sidekick for Life Podcast, hosts Dan Dillard and Dr. Leon Vanstone, are joined in the studio with special guest, Dr. Alton Barron. Unfortunately, host Natalie Peyton was traveling this episode.
Dr. Barron is an esteemed orthopedic surgeon and a passionate advocate for musicians' health. He is incredibly well versed on mentorship, education, and the intersection of medicine and the arts. Dr. Barron founded the Musician’s Treatment Foundation. Find out more here: https://mtfusa.org/
Since Dr. Barron is a former engineer turned surgeon, we sought out Gen Z students studying engineering and medicine to bring their fresh perspectives. Special thanks to our Gen Z contributors and our Gen Z Correspondent Anais Schmidt:
Kiera, a returning Gen Z guest asks "If you ever lose your path, how do you find your footing?"
Natalie also hit the streets interviewing Gen Z on the University of Texas campus. She spoke to:
Don, who asked how AI will affect him personally
Drew, who wanted to know what he should be learning outside his software engineering degree
Juju, a social services graduate who isn’t worried about AI affecting her field; and
Gabby, a pre-med student with hopes of working in pediatrics, who expressed why she doesn’t fear AI taking over her future job in medicine.
