Big Idea: Jesus faced numerous temptations, yet he was able to resist & overcome them all as well. His example gives us the necessary lessons for overcoming temptation in our own lives.
The three temptations that Jesus had to go through that constitute Satan’s entire game plan and how to be victorious over those ……
Satan has only three temptations, three plays in his playbook: the Lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. And he runs them over and over again……
Scripture: 1 John 2:16 “For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.”
Reasons why Devil tempts us:
1. The Devil is after your “Worth”
2. The Devil is after your “Worship”,
3. The Devil knows that your faith and anointing shall increase in the wilderness.
4. The Devil knows that on the other side of the test, God is waiting to fill you with more anointing.
How did Jesus overcome the Devil’s temptations?
1. Stayed focused on His identity.
2. Stayed devoted to His father.
3. Stayed dedicated to His purpose.
Jesus was able to do all that through the power of the Word:- Jesus responded with scripture.
“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
