This week Joy and Laura are talking about season 3 episode 8 “A Very Supernatural Christmas”. Sam and Dean come face to face with pagan gods who are sacrificing humans around Christmas time.
We discuss how, yet again, John is the worst Dad by leaving young Sam and Dean to fend for themselves at Christmas; how much we love awkward Sam; and how Dean is such a himbo, and we love him for that.
We also discuss how well the Pagan Gods blend into suburbia, like a 50’s sitcom; how some of the lore around the pine trees being used to kill the Gods don’t really fit from a witchcraft perspective, however it does fit the plot of a Christmas episode; and how cute the necklace origin story is!
Joy’s Easter eggs are about some of the plants mentioned for the Pagan rituals, including meadowsweet; and the origins of Jared Padalecki’s Always Keep Fighting campaign during the filming of this episode, which makes both of us cry!
