In this episode Joy and Laura break down season 4 episode 19 “Jump The Shark”. Sam and Dean receive a call from a young man named Adam Milligan, who claims to be John Winchester's son and go to meet him. They help Adam investigate the disappearance of his mother, but things take a dark turn when it’s revealed that Adam and his mother have already been killed, and ghouls have taken on their forms.
We play Kiss, Marry, Kill at the start. Then we discuss whether John is a better or worse dad for protecting Adam from the hunter life, Sam and Dean’s differing reactions to finding out about another sibling, and Laura feels sick from the enclosed spaces Dean has to be in during this episode.
We also discuss how disturbing it is when Dean finds Adam and Kate’s bodies, and how Dean pointing out Sam is like their father is the ultimate insult.
Joy’s Easter eggs are about Ghouls within Islam and other folklore, including an account from a Medieval monk in England.
