Joshua Maloney served in the Iraq War in the First Cavalry Division

He has been a part of numerous combat and humanitarian aid missions. He has since gone on to advocate for student veterans as president of his local chapter of Student Veterans of America.

He’s a teacher with the veteran’s yoga project, a writer, and an avid bird-watcher credited with the first bald eagle sighting on Cape Cod in over a century.

He’s also a great friend of mine. We’ve edited each other’s work and collaborated on a feature article about a maritime disaster off the coast of our hometowns, featured in We Are The Mighty.
