Description

Following the September 11th Attacks, Gunnery Sgt. John A. Dailey was one of the Force Recon Marines who entered the fight in a new special operations unit that would become MarSoc. As one of the leaders tasked with selecting men for this elite unit, he was looking for “tough rugged bastards with strong backs and hard feet.”

He writes about his experience in his new book Tough Rugged Bastards: A Memoir of Life in Marine Special Operations

After over twenty years in the Marine Corps, John received his MFA in creative writing from UNCW. These days he keeps his back strong and his feet hard as an avid Rucker and GoRuck Cadre.

He writes about rucking on his Substack, Ruck the F*ck UP (RTFU) and talks about it in his ruck rants, helping readers from all walks of life crush their goals in the field and in life.
