Mike Meyers serves as the current Commissioner of the Military Basketball Association. He is the CEO and Founder of the MBA dating back to the summer of 2017. As a volunteer head coach for over 20 years, Mike Meyers has been one of the leaders in the effort to support military basketball with a globally established volunteer association. He is a one of the pioneers to bring military basketball to the world as a tool to prevent harmful behaviors.
Mike is a retired, 23 year Army combat veteran. He joined the Army in January of 2000 as an enlisted Soldier with the MOS of 75B10 (Human Resources Specialist) and then commissioned in 2005 from ROTC as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps. In 2006, Mike deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom during the Surge. He was medically evacuated in 2007 and uses basketball to stay resilient and build mental fitness.
Mike has contributed over 20,000 hours of volunteer service in various communities and utilizes military basketball platform as a method to provide active duty service members recreation while off duty.
