Description

"Ever since I first started to reflect on this story as a younger man, I haven't thought about Jesus words as a rebuke to Thomas so much as a comfort to me, 'Blessed are those who have not seen yet have come to believe.' Brothers and sisters in Christ, that's us. We have not seen the physical risen Jesus. We did not travel with him for three years during his ministry, hear his teachings, be confounded by his parables in real time, or witness his miraculous acts as he touched lepers, blind, crippled. We have these stories transmitted down through the ages in the scriptures. And we believe them. And our lives are transformed as a result of that. You and I, based on these stories, and the way they touch our hearts. We seek to know God's will for us. We seek to follow Jesus the best way that we know how, being his hands and feet and heart in the world around us. We seek to be a vessel for the Holy Spirit to be at work in our lives and in the community."
