The Prefontaine Classic is always one of the highlights on the Diamond League calendar as it brings together some of the top stars in the sport. 2024 was no different, as the Women's 100m Dash saw a head-to-head clash between World Champion Sha'Carri Richardson and Olympic Champion Elaine Thompson-Herah in arguably the most competitive 100m race of the 2024 Olympic season so far.
Though Sha'Carri took the win in 10.83 seconds, while Elaine finished last place in 11.30, the performances go a bit deeper than just their times on the clock.
Today I breakdown the full 100m field from Sha'Carri and Elaine to Julien Alfred and Melissa Jefferson, including the implications as we get closer to the US Olympic Trials next month and the Paris Olympics later this summer.
