In this episode, I share a tip on how to deal with anxiety by being present. I explain that anxiety is caused by engaging in thoughts about the past or the future, which robs us of the present moment. To practice being present, I suggest focusing on a physical item in the room and noticing its details. By shifting our focus from inside ourselves to outside in the real world, we can calm our nervous system and reduce anxiety. I recommend starting with a minute a day and gradually increasing the practice.
