Episode Summary:
Maddie playfully accuses her friend Thomas of finding her unattractive, prompting an argument about their true feelings. They agree to have an adult debate about becoming a couple. Thomas resists at first to protect their friendship but then ardently declares his love for Maddie after she argues they're meant to be.
When a smitten Thomas proposes marriage, Maddie panics and rejects him, claiming she just wants to remain friends. A heartbroken Thomas distances himself, leaving for weeks to get over Maddie. Though regretful, Maddie is relieved to have avoided a romance that could ruin their bond.
