Sahana Dasharathi is the founder of Dash of Nourishment. A practising nutritionist, Sahana specialises in sports nutrition, weight management, gut health, lifestyle management, auto-immune disorders, and hormone imbalances and disorders. She has worked with corporates like Northern Trust and FirstSource while working with Right Living, a nutritional counselling and education firm in Bengaluru. She then worked with another company, Nutrifymydiet, which focused on sports nutrition, helping clients address lifestyle disorders and weight management. In her time with Nutrifymydiet, she also worked with the Indian hockey team. In 2019 September, Sahana decided to start her private practice and take the solo plunge, so that’s how Dash of Nourishment began.
Sahana has a practical, no-bullshit approach to nutrition. Her Instagram content is fun and eccentric without any compromise on hard fact. What I like the most about her, just as I do with Dinesh (listen to the previous episode if you haven't already), is that she cares about what she does.
In this episode, Sahana talks about what it means to eat well, the common misconceptions about nutrition, and her pet peeves. She also gives us insight into her broader vision and dreams for the nutrition industry.
