This week Ann and Dan have a discussion about our lax gun laws in light of the recent mass shootings. Dan is a gun owner and he shares that he’d like to see stricter gun laws. He would like to see the current loopholes closed that allow private sellers to not require background checks. He’d also like to see medical records tied into the current FBI background checks.
Dan and Ann disagree on banning assault rifles. Dan makes the case that a semi-automatic AR-15 doesn’t function any different than a run of the mill 9mm. Ann is under the impression that every military style rifle is fully automatic, which isn’t the case. Dan attempts to dispell some of the myths and even uses some of his firearms to demonstrate that a handgun can do just as much damage as a rifle in a confined area.
