Fafafoom Studio is a design and sewing hub located in the
San Francisco Bay area and was established in 2018 with
the goal of raising awareness about textile waste and
promoting sustainable habits. The studio focuses
on upcycling materials to create unique textile art
and aims to encourage a “no waste” mentality. Mira
Musank is the founder of the studio and considers
herself a textile upcycling artist rather than a
traditional fashion designer. Her work intersects with
slow fashion and climate activism. Instead of creating
seasonal collections, she repurposes materials
responsibly and presents them to the community to
initiate conversations and have a positive impact on
the local community.
