Raana Kashani Gregg, a lawyer by trade, is the creator of LUNAESCENT, a skincare device brand with a unique approach. While most brands focus on perfecting the product formula, LUNAESCENT emphasizes the application process. When Raana’s son was young, he was diagnosed with food allergies and eczema and was prescribed topical steroids as part of his treatment. She dutifully applied the daily topical with her fingers but soon developed an adverse reaction to the medication. This was her “aha moment” when she realized that our fingers and hands are imperfect application tools. To address this problem, she developed a touch-free applicator that allows for the application of any skin care – for beauty, medication, or sun protection – without using fingers. The applicator ensures less product waste because there is no unwanted absorption into fingers, and it prevents contamination and degradation of active ingredients in skincare.
