Joe and Mimi, along with the friends they’ve gathered, watch Machinedramon’s city dissolve. As they continue on their journey, Mimi becomes tired, and their companions Gekomon, Otamamon, and Frigimon leave to search for food. During their rest, Joe recalls a conversation with his brother Jim, who told him that he didn’t have to become a doctor if he didn’t want to. Inspired by this memory, Joe decides he wants to grow stronger and stop being the person who always messes things up.
Once they’ve had some time to recover, the group moves forward and arrives at the colorless, broken Primary Village. As they explore, they hear a harmonica playing in the distance and rush toward the sound, hoping it’s Matt. However, when they find the source, it turns out to be Elecmon, who has fallen into a depression. When the group tells Elecmon about Patamon and T.K.’s fight, he agrees to join them. Joe then asks Elecmon where he found the harmonica, and the group determines that Matt crossed the nearby lake in a swan boat.
Her appearance immediately rubs Kari and Sora the wrong way, and their Digimon attack LadyDevimon, only to find that she is a formidable opponent. LadyDevimon easily fends off six Digimon at once—two Ultimates (Angewomon and Andromon), three Champions (Angemon, Kabuterimon, and Birdramon), and one Rookie (Agumon). She overwhelms the team with her Darkness Wave, knocking back Angewomon, Angemon, Kabuterimon, and Birdramon simultaneously. Andromon attempts to counterattack with Spiral Sword, but LadyDevimon deflects it effortlessly. Even when Kabuterimon and Birdramon follow up with their respective attacks, Mega Blaster and Meteor Wing, LadyDevimon extinguishes their efforts with a flick of her wrist, taunting them with sarcasm.
Angemon tries to strike with Heaven’s Knuckle, but LadyDevimon dodges gracefully, only to be grazed by Angewomon’s Holy Arrow. Frustrated by this minor hit, LadyDevimon retaliates by delivering a brutal uppercut to Angewomon. As Angewomon struggles to regain her footing, Kabuterimon and Birdramon attempt to help, but LadyDevimon effortlessly swats them away, maintaining her dominance in the fight.
Agumon urges Tai to let him warp digivolve, but Tai hesitates, recognizing the need to conserve their strength for the greater battle ahead. When Izzy analyzes LadyDevimon with his Digimon Analyzer, it becomes clear just how dangerous she is. Realizing the gravity of the situation, Tai instructs Sora and T.K. to leave the battlefield and gather the others, while the rest of the group continues to engage LadyDevimon.
Angewomon steps up to take on LadyDevimon, urging Angemon and Birdramon to leave. Despite Angewomon’s best efforts, it becomes clear that LadyDevimon is far more skilled in combat, countering every attack Angewomon launches. Even the Holy Arrows Angewomon fires are evaded with ease, while LadyDevimon’s Darkness Wave rips through Angewomon’s defenses.
In a cruel twist, LadyDevimon grabs Angewomon by the hair, swinging her around mercilessly and mocking her as she does. As Angewomon screams in pain, MegaKabuterimon evolves in an attempt to rescue her. He manages to catch Angewomon before she crashes into the ground, but she angrily tells him to stay out of her way.
Determined to prove herself, Angewomon returns to the fight, slapping LadyDevimon in the face and challenging her to continue. This escalates into a frenzied, slap-filled brawl between the two Digimon, but LadyDevimon gains the upper hand with a roundhouse kick that sends Angewomon crashing into the ground.
Just as LadyDevimon is about to deliver the final blow, MegaKabuterimon steps in, blocking her attack and breaking her talons. Seizing the opportunity, Angewomon fires one last Holy Arrow, striking LadyDevimon down. LadyDevimon cries out Piedmon’s name in defeat, but before the DigiDestined can celebrate, Piedmon himself arrives, signaling that their greatest battle is still ahead.
