Martin is a leadership guru as he’s run the LGA / Sport England Leadership Essentials program for many years and continues to do so working with the likes nowadays of Ken Masser from Miova and others, on the roll out of the Place expansion work.
He is also heavily influential on Sport England, as you can see with proportional universalism and addressing inequalities in Uniting the Movement strategy document.
Martyn is very well versed on the politics across local government which is also very topical as Local Government Reorganisations gathers pace across the country.
Martyn certainly doesn't shy away from discussing the really thorny issues and even the sort of existential question of why should public leisure exist in the future? What’s our purpose? What should it be? And are we making progress on that front?
