The movie follows the young Chihiro, who must find a way to escape a spirit world populated by non-humans, and save her parents who have been cursed by a sorceress into becoming pigs. In this journey she finds Haku, and realizes that there are many like them who have lost their true identity because of the contracts they sign to work in the sorceress's business, an evening bathhouse for guardians and spirits who roam the Earth during the day.
