Description

Dangerous Liaisons is a criminology podcast examining law, lived experience, and society’s response to harm. Each episode explores how violence is defined, understood, and addressed (or ignored) by the systems meant to protect, moving beyond media headlines and legal labels to confront the realities of crime, harm, and accountability.

Dangerous Liaisons came from a place of frustration with how often violence against women is reduced to isolated incidents, while the wider social harm is silenced and ignored. As a criminology researcher, I am interested in how crime is defined, how harm is experienced, and how institutions respond, particularly when they fail to address abusive behaviours. This podcast creates a safe, scientific space for informed conversations about violence, accountability, and social responsibility. It is about understanding what is happening, why violence continues, and what needs to change.” ~ CAROLINE SAUL
