This week’s guest is Her Excellency Ambassador Deike Potzel of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ireland. Ambassador Potzel has been involved in representing Germany internationally for nearly 25 years. She grew up in east Germany and had plans to become an interpreter until she found herself on the diplomatic trail. After witnessing the fall of the Berlin wall and the reunification of Germany, Ambassador Potzel joined the diplomatic service and since then has been posted all around the world to represent the Federal Republic of Germany. Some of these countries include, Ireland, Singapore, and Iran. James sits with Her excellency Ambassador Deike Potzel to discuss her career, the challenges it has brought and the advice she would give to those starting their own careers.
