This week’s guest is Eugene McCague, former Managing Partner and Chairman of Arthur Cox. Eugene has over 35 years’ experience as a corporate lawyer. He has been involved as a non-executive director of public and private commercial companies, including state boards and not-for- profit companies. He was President of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and is currently the Chair of the Governing Authority of University College Dublin. Eugene is also the author of the biographies of two of corporate Ireland’s best known figures; solicitor Arthur Cox (Arthur Cox 1891- 1965) and businessman Kevin McCourt (My Dear Mr. McCourt). Both were published by the established publisher Gill & McMillian. James sits with Eugene to discuss his career, the changes and challenges it has brought him and the advice he would give to those thinking of following a similar career path.
