This week’s guest is David Bell, Managing Director of The HR Department Limited. David qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and has worked as an in house solicitor for companies ranging from a start-up company to a major publicly quoted food company. During that time he provided legal advice particularly in the area of Employment Law. Since 2006, David has been the Managing Director of the HR Department, a company that provides small to medium sized organisations with the expertise and support to build and maintain a comprehensive and legally compliant human resources function. He writes a weekly blog on all matters HR and Employment and is also a regular contributor on Down to Business with Bobby Kerr on Newstalk. James sits with David to discuss his career, the changes and challenges it has brought him and the advice he would give to those thinking of following a similar career path.
