This week’s guest is bestselling author of “Hitching for Hope- a Journey into the Heart and Soul of Ireland”, Ruairí McKiernan. As well as being an author, Ruairí is an award-winning social innovator, a campaigner, a consultant, host of the chart-topping Love and Courage podcast, and a sought-after speaker. In 2012, Ruairí was appointed to the Council of State by President of Ireland Michael D Higgins, where he served a 7-year term. A business graduate and Fulbright scholar, Ruairí is the founder of the pioneering SpunOut.ie youth organisation, a founding member of the Uplift civic action movement, and part of the founding team behind Gaelic Voices For Change. Originally from Cootehill Co Cavan, Ruairí lives on the west coast of Co Clare with his wife Susan Quirke who is a musician and meditation teacher currently preparing to release her debut album. James sits down with Ruairi to discuss his career, the twists and turns it has had and the advice he would give to those starting out on their career journeys.
