This week’s guest is John Bateson, managing director and senior portfolio manager at IIU. John began his career in KPMG becoming a qualified accountant after four years there. In 1989, Dermot Desmond called and asked him to join his new corporate finance team in NCB and so John left KPMG and joined the world of business. He has worked for Dermot ever since, having been asked by Dermot to leave NCB and join his new venture IIU in 1995. James sits with John Bateson to discuss the highs and lows of his career and the challenges he experienced along the way.
