As we continue our health and wellness journey this January, we chatted with Dionne Calhoun, founder of Dancerfit located here in Washington, D.C. 

DancerFit by Dionne has been honored by the readers choice of the Washington City Paper as the "Best of DC" dance company in arts and entertainment. DancerFit combines high energy aerobic steps with organic freestyle dance and choreographed dance routines. All are welcome. It’s just a fun way to get fit!

COVID-19 STRETCH AND RELEASE Have COVID-19 Exhaustion? Have COVID-19 Depression? Feeling down and isolated? JOIN US for STRETCH AND RELEASE CLASS. This class is for the person or youth that needs to reset and release any anxiety, stress, or tension. We all need it in this day of living within our new normal. Let’s make you feel good, and at ease. We would like to put a smile on your face. When you come to this class, we want you to leave all of your anxiety on the floor. We are going to stretch and meditate through movement. In this class you will also be educated on the following: • Balance • Flexibility • Toning and Sculpting • Strengthening your abdominal muscles (core) • Losing weight • Gaining Confidence Another component of class will be our strength and resistance training. You will be instructed on how to use 3, 5, or 8 pounds weights to tone and sculpt your arms, shoulders, and back. Learn from Dionne Johnson Calhoun, a trained and professional dancer.
