Arthur Middleton was a Founding Father and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina, to Henry Middleton and Mary Baker Williams. Arthur was educated in Britain and later returned toSouth Carolina, where he became involved in local politics and served as a delegate to the Continental Congress in 1776. He was a leader of the American Party and played a significant role in the American Revolution.
