The best radio host in the UNIVERSE brings you a team of baseball experts. Only on 97.9 Unity Radio, Executive Producer Ernie Floyd. We have the Head Football Coach at Worcester Academy Jeremy Bandy, joined by our version of Peter Gammons, Worcester Academy Offensive Line Coach Mike Binkoski and featuring our new pitching analyst Jon Guynes. Jeremy and Mike are season ticket holders, along with having press passses to interview players. After a difficult road trip to Toledo, the Sox returned to Polar Park winning 3 out of 4 games against Lehigh Valley and winning 5 out of their last 8. The WOOSOX took a big loss with Japanese sensation pitcher Naoyuki Uwasawa being moved up to the Red Sox. He went 2-1 in his 3 appearances striking out 17 in only 15 innings pitched. Coach Chad Tracy is sad to see him go, leaving a hole in the starting rotation but thrilled Uwasawa will be making appearances in Boston, most likely as a middle reliever. Player movement is frequent so he always could make the drive into Worcester if needed for a start. Rob Refsynder played a few games on assignment and made his presence felt dropping a bomb of a Home Run at Polar Park, being in the top 5 in RBIs on the team and we saw him play first base for a game as he is typically a right fielder. Bobby Dalbac, Niko Kavadas, and Nick Sogard all are having their bats warm up as the weather is getting nicer in May. Outfielder Corey Rosier struggled early on and has been hitting the ball solid the last few games, knocking in RBIs and scoring runs. Two more games at the luxurious Polar Park and then the real test comes when WOOSOX play a whopping 7 game series on the road against their nemesis Buffalo who they will be looking to exact revenge. There is currently a log jam in the standings, Buffalo is in 2nd place. If the Sox can win 4 out of 7 they will move up to 3rd place and right back in the hunt for the playoffs
