In this episode of The TyePod, I have a conversation with Joe Logue who is also known as Dystrophy Dad! He is a writer, poet, and a founder of the bad@ss group known as the Sons (and Daughters) of Dystrophy-@sonsofdystrophy. Joe works with Euan’s Guide as a Community Manager.
We talk a bit about his life with Becker muscular dystrophy and his experience as a husband, father, employee, disability advocate, creator, and human being! There are so many parts of our talk that resonated with me, but Joe’s authenticity and approach with his daughter in discussing his diagnosis is so refreshing. Mental and emotional impact of a muscle wasting disease is something else we discussed and how therapeutic poetry can be for processing dark thoughts.
I appreciate Dystrophy Dad for joining me and I know myself and many others (especially those of us in the SOD) will continue to benefit from his efforts to support the MD and disability community!
This week’s episode is in my bio! As always, thank you so much to everyone who listens, follows, shares and interacts with my content and a huge shoutout to the amazing guests who take time to come on my podcast.
If you or anyone you know are interested in making a guest appearance please send me a message!
