Description

Time for the latest edition of The TyePod from your friendly neighborhood PhD with guest Clarissa Thomas who lives with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder and celiac disease.

Clarissa talks about the evolution of her symptoms and learning to adapt with the help of her family and extended support system. She discusses some of the specific aspects of planning ahead for hard days while maximizing her good days. One thing she mentioned that definitely resonated with me is the impact of a chronic illness on those in our inner circles. Those closest to us share our experiences and adapt to our disabilities in many ways!

Next time on The TyePod I am joined by @DisabledGhoul!

The podcast cover for The TyePod Episode S2E69, titled “Make your mess a message,” features a vibrant outdoor landscape with grassy fields, scattered rocks, and tall autumn trees beneath a softly clouded sky. Centered across the top of the image is a large white banner outlined in black with bold black text reading “THE TYE POD.” Below it are three figures: on the left, Dr. Tye Martin smiles with short hair, a beard, and glasses; in the center, a cartoon avatar of Dr. Tye sits in a power wheelchair wearing glasses and a cap; and on the right, Clarissa Thomas smiles warmly, wearing a sparkling pageant crown and a bright blue outfit. Beneath the figures, another white banner reads “S2E69 AKA ‘Make your mess a message.’” At the bottom, two black rectangles display the social media handles @Dr.TyeDMartin and @Mrs.Clarissa.Thomas.
