Description

In today’s episode of the TyePod I had a great conversation with the hosts of the @OtheringPodcast Mike and Dory! They highlight stories of the marginalized with a focus on LGBTQ+ and disability.

One of my favorite parts of being a podcast host is learning about other shows and the voices behind them! I appreciate both Mike and Dory for sharing their thoughts and insights on the disabled community and their personal connection. I also feel they bring a valuable perspective on intersectionality, which is so important! We are so much more than disability alone!

The podcast cover for The TyePod Episode S2E73, titled “I’m not in this to be the next Oprah,” features a warm outdoor landscape with grassy fields, scattered rocks, and tall autumn trees under a softly clouded sky. A bold white banner outlined in black spans the top with the text “THE TYE POD.” Below it are three figures: on the left, Dr. Tye Martin smiles with short hair, a beard, and glasses; in the center, a cartoon avatar of Dr. Tye sits in a power wheelchair; and on the right is a split image of two hosts from The Othering Podcast, each wearing headphones and speaking into microphones, set against a colorful background displaying their podcast logo. A white banner beneath them reads “S2E73 AKA ‘I’m not in this to be the next Oprah.’” At the bottom, two black rectangles display the handles @Dr.TyeDMartin and @OtheringPodcast.
