Before entering academia, Wax served as Assistant to the Solicitor General at the U.S. Department of Justice, where she argued 15 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court.


A scholar with an extraordinary academic background, she holds a B.S. in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale, was a Marshall Scholar at Oxford, earned an M.D. from Harvard Medical School, and received her J.D. from Columbia Law School.


Her unique career bridges the worlds of medicine and law, with experience as a practicing neurologist and a prominent legal thinker.
