Husky Talk- Conversations With Cully and Conlon finally returns. My lovely host, UConn Women's Basketball legend and current head coach at Western Connecticut State University Maria Conlon catch up after a few weeks. We talk about her first season at the college level and look at the NCAA Women's Tournament.
Maria was tossed into a difficult situation with the previous coach retiring in August and she took over right in October with no preseason or a lot of practice time. Getting to know the players, their personalities and parents was a top priority. Also, she had a very young team with 4 seniors, 1 junior and the rest were freshmen. She has been hitting the road hard recruiting, along with hosting girls on campus. Maria is also presenting her project Work Hearter, because it has a ton of potential to be implemented in high school or as a college elective course. She believes the UConn Women will roll through the Big East tournament and potentially still earn a #1 spot. At the end, she answers our viewers questions.
