Husky Talk- Conversations With Cully and Conlon managed to bring our loyal listeners an episode during a crazy week, and we even brought on a spectacular guest, Meg Culmo, the voice of UConn Women's basketball.
Maria Conlon does it all with 47 jobs, a family with 2 kids and is running a basketball camp this week. Meg was a former coach at UConn and she was in the middle of camp herself. Maria is the best and brought Meg on the show.
Listen to her tell her story from being a player, than coaching for a few years, to now broadcasting UConn Womens basketball games for several decades. What an amazing journey and it was special listening to Maria and Meg interact, telling stories.
What I thought was so special is that both women are paying it forward, giving back to the community. Running camps at a discounted cost, providing breakfast for everyone. Maria and Meg are a huge reason women's sports continues to grow at an exponential pace.
The stars of tomorrow can be found right here at these camps, be coached hard, pushed by the best, and becoming better players each day. Women are finally getting the credit they deserve for their drive, desire, passion and enthusiasm. The best is yet to come, what an honor it was to interview both Maria and Meg. Steve Cully was an offensive tackle who could get in the way for a few seconds or fall on the field. Maria and Meg are UConn legends, I am beyond grateful having a chance to interview them.
