In November, we will be talking about dementia. To start off, we are joined by two guests both working in the areas of dementia and transportation at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Colleen Peterson is a postdoctoral research associate with a focus on aging, dementia care, and roadway safety. Dr. Robyn Birkeland works as a study counselor providing support to individuals offering care to people with dementia. Drs. Peterson and Birkeland discussed research results and work experiences on caring for people with dementia and their safety in regards to various means of transportation, including driving and ground and air public transportations, and the ongoing research study "CarFreeMe".
