Today’s episode features Matthew Bower, MS, LGC, a genetic counselor at University of Minnesota Health. He works with people who have inherited neurologic diseases and meets with patients to help them understand how genetic conditions impact them and their family members. He describes the way that at home genetic testing, especially those that focus on health information, have impacted his profession. Finally, he discusses genetic testing in the context of aging as well as how he approaches conversations and ethical concerns with patients.
