Pastor Brett Ehlke
Faith in Action—Faith in Jesus is not passive — it’s alive and active through Word, fellowship, and service. God fills us with his grace in Word and Sacrament, unites us to one another as his family, and sends us out as his hands and feet in the world.
Throughout this sermon series we are going to reflect on the mission statement of St. Paul’s and consider how a new system in our church, called Member Ministry, will help us achieve this mission. As Member Ministry is introduced you will discover more about yourself and the opportunities God has placed in front of you as you live out your Faith in Action.
Faith in Service—Faith that receives God’s love also reflects it. The Lord has uniquely gifted each of us to serve others and to bring glory to his name. Service is not reserved for a few—it’s the calling of every Christian. As we discover and use the gifts God has given, our lives become living thank-you notes to him. We serve not to earn favor, but because we already have it in Christ. Today, we celebrate how God works through ordinary people like us to accomplish extraordinary things for his kingdom.
