Danielle is an Associate Professor in Kinesiology and Applied Health, with a focus on Nutrition. Her previous research focused on the effects of dietary components, like fatty acids in dairy and bioactive compounds in plant-based foods, on obesity, fatty liver disease, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes. Her current research program focuses on diet and chronic metabolic disease related to intestinal health. When not in the research lab, Danielle teaches courses in introductory nutrition, advanced sports nutrition, and physiology. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and love of nutrition, especially dispelling common misconceptions, and breaking down nutrition information to make it relevant and accessible.
