Michaela Pereira, a newcomer to Pickleball meets Pickleball coach and enthusiast Roger BelAir. After seeing a story about the Cook County Sherrif, Tom Dart wanting to make a difference in the jail house environment, this retired financial expert found inspiration. Roger envisioned pickleball as a means of teaching "life skills" in prison. On his own dime, he travelled to Chicago, rackets in hand and introduced the game to the incarcerated men. It was such a success, his program is now in prisons coast to coast - from Rikers Island to San Quentin.
