depression depression depression. I just wanted to say it a few times because it's constantly avoided for being SUCH a damn taboo topic + word. I always knew depression was a topic that this growing community (and I) needed to chat more on, but I was never quite sure how I could do such an intensely felt head space + emotional-roller-coastery feeling any justice. especially when it's so different in it's mental, emotional, + physical manifestations from human to human. so I brainstormed the best way I know how: I took notes down while I worked my way through my own depressive bout, + then I asked my listeners to weigh in about how their depression looks + feels for THEM. this episode will leave you with takeaways + new perspectives whether you're someone who feels like you're navigating your depression alone, or you're a human who loves another human who goes through their own struggles with depression, + you're desperate to learn how to love + see them better. I think the secret to learning to live with the ebbs + flows of our mental health is learning to talk about it out loud with the supportive humans in our lives. sure it may not always come out making sense the first or second time, but when it does, the result will be a growth point for you + your support system.
