We want to be in God’s presence – experience His presence
Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob. (v6)
1. We have His presence (v1-2)
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, for he founded it … established it …
An owner cares for their business!
2. We may enter His presence (v3-6)
Who may ascend the mountain? … Who may stand in his holy place?
The one who has clean hands and a pure heart …
Psalm 15 expands on “clean hands” (v5)
Matthew 5:8. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
3. We must seek His presence (v7-10)
Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Finally – it’s all about Jesus
He wrestled His way up the mountain. He went before us, He opened the way
He had clean hands and a pure heart. He is our Saviour, our vindication
He is our King of Glory, entering our world
