Description

Thank you to all who celebrated our 30th anniversary on Palm Sunday! We have a special message from our Pastors:

Dear Members and Friends,Welcome to Divine Peace. It was 30 years ago on Palm Sunday that Divine Peace held its first service in a storefront in Rowlett. Over 550 people have held membership at Divine Peace during the 30 years of existence. Today there are 273 souls and 217 communicants at our multisite congregation in Garland and Rockwall. Truly, this is a day for us to give thanks and praise to the Lord for his rich blessings. We can take no credit for these blessings, for there were days we had our doubt about this small flock’s future, and the Lord showed us his generous measure of love and faithfulness with great patience and grace. Indeed, today is a celebration of his grace!

As we continue to stand in his presence with humility, we also recognize that we are called to be good managers of the blessings he has poured out on us. We are confident of his continued blessings for the future, the greatest blessing being our eternal salvation proclaimed to us through Word and sacrament.

Although we can worship the Lord at any time and in any place, we are deeply thankful to our brothers and sisters in the DFW circuit who helped us reach this point. We also thank our Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod for their support and encouragement received over the years. As we look back on the past, we see more clearly that this day reflects God’s grace toward us.

It is with this same assurance that we continue to look toward the future. The Good News of Jesus Christ fills our hearts with a burning desire to hear more about his love, and to share that love with others. If it is God’s will, we hope to open Divine Peace Anchor Child Care Ministry in Rockwall that will assist us to carry out our ministry in the future. May we never lose the assurance and desire to grow and go with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

We are happy that you are here today. We hope Divine Peace has sparked an even greater relationship between you and the Lord God. We cordially invite you to worship with us regularly. If you have no church home, you are invited to consider this church, for here, we can promise that you will find Divine Peace in Jesus, our Savior.

Yours in Christ,

Pastors John Hering & Gunnar Ledermann

And a big thank you to Pastor Joel Hering from Holy Word in Austin for leading our service!
