Former NFL player, motivational speaker, author, ESPN radio host, and Philanthropist Ben Troupe joined Not For Long Media this week.
Ben is a Georgia native who attended the University of Florida. While attending Florida, he played under Coach Spurrier and Coach Zook. As a senior team captain in 2003, Troupe was a first-team All-SEC and first-team All American honors from ESPN, Rivals.com, and Sports Illustrated. He was also one of three finalists for the John Mackey Award, recognizing the nation's best college tight end in 2003.
After Florida, he was drafted in the second round as the 40th overall pick of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans. He spent four seasons with the Titans and then eventually signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders.
On this episode, Ben and Colin broke down the reasons behind why Ben wore the number 84, Coach Zook is process-driven, and not result-oriented, rookie hurdles he faced, the best thing Ben has ever done, Kyle Pitts, and what he is currently up to.
