Description

Paul Schreiner began training Jiu-Jitsu in the late 1990s in Santa Cruz, California, under Claudio França and Garth Taylor. In the early 2000s, he spent significant time in Brazil, where he trained and competed extensively, becoming one of the few American athletes of that era to earn a podium finish at the World Championships held in Brazil. With over two decades of teaching experience, Paul spent 14 years at the Marcelo Garcia Academy in New York City, where he played a key role in developing one of the most successful teams in modern Jiu-Jitsu. As part of the MGJJ coaching staff, he helped guide athletes like Bernardo Faria and Dominyka Obelenyte—contributing to the academy becoming the first to produce World Champions in both the black belt weight and absolute divisions for men and women in the same year. Before his time at MGJJ, Paul taught at American Kickboxing Academy alongside Dave Camarillo, co-founded Kaijin MMA with Garth Taylor, and launched a Jiu-Jitsu program at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino.Known for his focused, thoughtful, and “non-denominational” approach to teaching, Paul continues to view Jiu-Jitsu as a lifelong, daily practice. He now lives in Los Angeles, where he recently opened Frogtown Jiu-Jitsu—a new space dedicated to sharing the art and philosophy of Jiu-Jitsu with a growing community.Learn more at FrogtownJJ.comDon’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe!Sponsored by TACFIT.com “The World’s Smartest Workout” Açai Jungle Cafe “Your neighborhood Paradise” AcaiJungleCafe.com
