Description

Mathew Green, an educator and host of the "Art of
Teaching" podcast, discusses his journey in education, his passion for
making a difference in students' lives, and the importance of being a husband
and father first and foremost.

Mathew also shares his "why" behind his career in
education, including his faith and the transformative power of education in his
own life. He highlights the value of public education and the opportunities it
provides for all students, regardless of their background or socioeconomic
status.

In this conversation, we discuss the importance of
authenticity and building relationships in teaching. We talk about the need for
teachers to show their humanity and share their lives outside of school with
students and colleagues. Additionally, we delve into the transition from
primary to high school and the challenges students face in adjusting to a new
environment. We finish the conversation with a challenge for listeners to
revisit their "why" in teaching and to reach out to a teacher who
made a difference in their lives.
