This week we speak with Liz Thompson a PhD candidate working on a clinical trial funded by the NFL to examine reducing neuroinflammation, concussion and pain with cannabinoid molecules. Liz has a MSc in physiology and BSc in microbiology & genetics. She is currently gathering data from pro and NCAA athletes and their medical training staff on their knowledge, opinions and perspectives on cannabinoid therapeutics in contact sports. We discuss the clinical trial for the NFL as well as some possible benefits of cannabis aiding in training and recovery in athletics.
