Description

It’s time for another episode of Growing Pictou County, One Story at a Time, brought to you by the Pictou County Partnership! 🌟

This week, we’re joined by Sue MacIntosh, one of the founders of Pictou County Safe Harbour—a volunteer-driven, non-profit refugee sponsorship society. Sue shares how Safe Harbour provides newcomers with a warm welcome and connects them to the resources they need to achieve social and economic empowerment. 🌍❤️

Safe Harbour’s volunteers have played a vital role in welcoming former refugee families to Pictou County over the years. Some of these families came through the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP), which helps highly skilled refugees find meaningful work in their fields. Thanks to the dedication of volunteers, these families now proudly call Pictou County home. 🏡

To learn more about Safe Harbour and their incredible work, visit pcsafeharbour.ca or connect with them on Facebook.
