Description

I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. George Ackerman,
attorney, professor, and founder of Together for Sharon. Our conversation delved deep into Dr. Ackerman's personal journey with Parkinson's disease, particularly focusing on his experience losing his mother, Sharon, and his role as her caregiver.

We explored the critical importance of advocacy and
community support in this journey. During our discussion, he provided detailed information about Parkinson's symptoms and stages, helped clarify common misconceptions about the disease, and explained the key differences between Parkinson's, dementia, and Alzheimer's.

One of the most important aspects of our conversation
centered on caregiver self-care, a topic Dr. Ackerman spoke about from firsthand experience. We also discussed the ongoing efforts to raise awareness
and provide support for individuals and families affected by Parkinson's disease.
