Hello,

Pinterest is a visual site, which means the images you use are one of the single most important elements of your campaigns.

Not only must you choose the right images to attract eyeballs, but you must present them in the right sizes, and you must include enhancements that draw even more attention.

First, you should take a look at Pinterest and see which images grab YOUR eyeballs.

You’ll probably notice one thing quickly, and that is that tall images catch your eye much easier than wider images, because they are much larger.

Pinterest restricts the width of images to fit their layout, which means wide images actually look quite small.

But they have a much, much higher image size limit with regards to height, which means you can capture a lot more real estate on the page by using very tall images than you can with images that are wider than they are tall.

But what’s the perfect size for Pinterest?

Most people say the ideal size for images is 735x1100.

But images that are even taller work great, too.

For example, 736x2748 is another size that is quite popular and works very well for taking up a lot of page real estate in the search results.

When you use this type of image, you will probably want to include several different photos in the same layout, like a collage.

You’ll also want to be sure you’re including text on your images.

Text is critical in getting more attention, because images alone don’t always tell the whole story about what your page is about.

Text can also make up most, or all, of the image.

If you don’t have a great image (or images) that perfectly illustrate your page, sometimes just some artfully presented text on a colorful background can be all you need to get clicks and re-pins.

You should take some time to study some of the most popular pins in your niche.

Search for a few important keywords that relate to your niche and take note of the pins that are getting re-pinned most often.

You may start to see a pattern with regards to the type of images that get the most attention, and which colors and fonts you should use on your own images.

Why reinvent the wheel?

Sometimes it’s better to just pay attention to what is already working and try to create your own version.

Tomorrow we are going to talk about how to create the type of juicy pin descriptions that really get results, so be sure to look for it!

Too many people create boring descriptions, or worse, put none at all!

The description is your chance to include important keywords AND get people to visit your site, so be sure to look for tomorrow’s lesson!
