Hello,

Now that you’ve learned the basics of Pinterest, it’s time to look at a few power tips that can really take your Pinterest marketing to the next level.

1. Pin Often

You always want to make sure you’re pinning at regular intervals to make sure people in different time zones are likely to see your pins.

Remember, you can use a scheduling program like Tailwind to make this easier, scheduling pins in advance, and even re-pinning old content to bring it back to the top.

2. Pin New Content

Don’t just re-pin content you see on Pinterest. Change it up sometimes by adding unique content from all around the web!

People love discovering new gems they haven’t already seen on Pinterest, so they’ll be more likely to follow you if you are pinning things they’ve never seen.

3. Consider Re-Pins

When you re-pin existing content on Pinterest, make sure you pin only the content that has received a good number of re-pins already.

Since Pinterest will display your content more often if you have a high rate of re-pins on it, it’s vitally important to keep your re-pin ratio high.

You should periodically go back to all your boards and remove anything that is not getting any re-pins, as those items will drag down your overall score and cause you to lag behind in the search results.

4. Confirm Your Website

If you haven’t done it already, be sure you confirm your website or blog on Pinterest.

This gives you a huge boost of credibility in the eyes of Pinterest users, and it doesn’t take much at all to do it.

5. Enable Rich Pins

It’s also very important to enable rich pins.

Rich pins include extra data that really grabs a TON of attention, and it’s especially easy to set this up on WordPress. (Though it’s not all that difficult on standard HTML or other types of sites, either.)

6. Join Group Boards

Group boards are run by one account, but contributed to by many accounts.

You can find group boards other people run and ask to become a contributor.

Keep in mind that you MUST read the rules of each board carefully so you don’t get banned from it.

Also, make sure you follow the board’s owner before you ask them to make you a contributor.

7. Add A Pinterest Plugin To Your Site

If you don’t already have a good plugin on your site for Pinterest, add one!

SumoMe has a couple of good plugins for this, including Share (to include Pinterest and other social network share buttons on your site), as well as Image Sharer, which puts share buttons directly on the images on your site!

That makes it incredibly easy for you, and your visitors, to share your content on Pinterest and other social networks!

Now that you’ve learned a lot about Pinterest, you’re ready to get out there and start getting traffic!

Best of luck!
